Upwards of a half million users affected so far
A Meta spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday that Facebook, Instagram, and Threads experienced outages, impacting some U.S. users' ability to log onto these platforms. According to a statement on Twitter (X), Meta spokesperson Andy Stone, Meta is aware of the access issues and is actively working to resolve them. DownDetector, a website that tracks user-reported issues, recorded over 400,000 outage reports for Facebook and nearly 50,000 for Instagram on Tuesday morning. Furthermore, as noted on Meta's website, the outage has caused significant disruptions to various commerce-related tools, including Ads Manager and Meta Business Suite.
