A fact sheet was released on The Biden-Harris Administration’s Efforts to End HIV/AIDS At Home and Abroad, reaffirming The Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to implementing the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) and achieving the bipartisan goal of ending the HIV epidemic domestically and globally. This year, the Administration also celebrated the 20th anniversary of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the largest commitment by any nation in history to fight a single disease.

A fact sheet was released marking the Two-Year Anniversary of the Report on the Impact of Climate Change on Migration. Research estimates more than 216 million people could migrate within their countries as a result of climate change by 2050. Migration can be a necessary mechanism for survival for communities and families facing severe risk to personal safety, property damage, or loss of livelihood and is often the only option to meaningfully reduce that risk. The president issued a statement on North Carolina’s Implementation of Medicaid Expansion, affirming that 600,000 North Carolinians can now access the coverage they need under Medicaid. He thanked Governor Roy Cooper’s years of leadership in partnership with bipartisan elected officials. North Carolina is the 40th state to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. 300,000 North Carolinians will receive this coverage immediately, and rural hospitals across the state will be able to keep their doors open to continue caring for their communities.
