Vice President Harris attended the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) In Dubai. As part of the Vice President’s remarks at COP28, she will announce a series of initiatives outlined below, including a $3 billion pledge to the Green Climate Fund as the United States works with international partners to mobilize finance at the pace and scale required.
In conjunction with the Vice President’s COP28 attendance, the White House published a fact sheet detailing what the administration is doing to combat climate change domestically and abroad, reaffirming President Biden’s ambitious climate agenda has also unleashed a clean manufacturing boom – stimulating over $350 billion in announced private investment in clean energy manufacturing since the start of the Biden-Harris Administration and creating over 210,000 clean energy jobs in just the last 15 months, with an additional 1.5 million jobs projected to be created over the next decade. Vice President Kamala Harris met with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Egypt in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
